Senior Pastor: Dr. Troy George
Pastor Troy is a native Oklahoman, growing up in Oklahoma City, and then graduating from Oklahoma State University. He went to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary getting his Masters and Doctorate in Education and Family Ministry. He has a wonderful wife, Karen, and four grown children – David, Michael, Cindy, and Tyler – two great daughter-in-laws Amber (David’s wife) and Christina (Michael’s wife) and two amazing grandsons, Joshua and Grayson with a granddaughter on the way. He loves people and brings his heart for families to FBC so that they will follow Jesus in a wonderful way with all ages. He cannot wait to meet you and get to know you as we share God’s love with Poteau!

Born in Chihuahua, México. He came to the USA in 1978 and in to Oklahoma in 1983. He has a beautiful wife, Aurora, and together they have 4 children, Elizabeth, Noemi, Samuel, and Carlos Jr, and 8 beautiful grandchildren. Carlos, his love and passion, that everyone knows Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior so that their lives change and their families live a better life. Graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University and Golden Gate Baptist Seminary.

Carlos, su amor y pasión que todos conozcan a Jesús como su Señor y Salvador personal para que sus vidas cambien y sus familias vivan una vida mejor. Worship Minister: Michael Jones
Michael serves as Worship Minister here at FBC and was born in Oklahoma City. He moved to Poteau in 1978 when he accepted the position of Music Director at Carl Albert State College. Michael has been at FBC since 2015. He and his wife Sherrie have three sons: Matthew, Adam and Stephen along with four grandchildren. He is looking forward to the great things God has in store for this church and community.
This is a verse that means a lot to him – “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10.
Secretary: Janie Allen
Janie is from Marietta, Oklahoma and has a degree in Elementary Education from Cameron State College in Lawton, OK. She has been a teacher for 31 years teaching at many grade levels and retired from teaching, going then to work in the newspaper field and then as a ministry administrative assistant in Burkburnett, Texas. She was saved in Ardmore, Oklahoma and baptized in Marietta.
She has been at FBC since 2019 and loves the Lord who gave her this verse to live by, “Let the morning bring word of your unfailing love for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go for to You I entrust my life.” Psalm 143:8.
